EVENING | PAULINE EPISTLES | BOOK 52 of 66 | 1 THESSALONIANS 4 |
Signpost Words | ‘COMMANDMENTS & COMFORT’
Some Observations |
God, the Holy Spirit gave specific ‘relationship commands’ to the early church and to us. “Keep your nose out of your brothers pre-marital relationships. Don’t ‘nick’ his fiancée, for, if you, out of lust disguised as love, become a disrupter of settled relationships and a destroyer of the same, then God will take vengeance upon you.” Now go preach that to your ‘Youth Group!’ (1 Thess 4:2-8)
A Call To Action |
Together, in death, in darkness and red hot hatred, those outside of Christ shall be together. Christian comfort is in the coming of the Lord. Millennial preaching, Christs imminent return needs to be put back at the forefront of Christian preaching to Christians. Together, in life and light and love, we Christians shall always be with the Lord. How long is it since your preacher spoke about the return of Christ?
Signpost Words | ‘COMMANDMENTS & COMFORT’
Highlight Verses | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. NKJV
