EVENING | PAULINE EPISTLES | BOOK 54 of 66 | 1 Timothy 1 |Signpost Words | ‘WAR! THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN. WAR!’
Some Observations |
The church can often be the most dangerous place on earth. Here, vocal, controlling and power seeking women, false prophets, wayward teachers and various ‘stinkers’ who cause great division, all seem to gather like jagged rocks on the sodden sand, ever seeking to rip the bottom out of boats who hug the shore on the low tides of their lives. Often, to be a minister is to wage war against the agents of the enemy found sat upon the pews, in the staff meeting room, or behind the pulpit. Honorable men who espouse good doctrine are to be honored and prayed for. Dishonorable people and those espousing double tongued doctrine should never be allowed in leadership, and if they are, it is the responsibility of those in spiritual authority to try and correct them and should they refuse to be corrected then they should be named, shamed, and shuffled out the door, and even handed over to the devil for a course of physical correction.
A Call To Action |
Know His word. Obey the Lord. In tumult and tension, seek the quiet life. In war, seek peace through victory. In revolt, seek destruction of the enemy. Among the frothing waves, seek stability. In confusion, seek clarity. In the storm, seek calm. Know His word. Obey the Lord.
Highlight Verses | 1 Timothy 1:18-20
This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme. NKJV
