Isolation, Forgiveness & Friendship
Hi Ladies,
I hope that you are having a great week.
Please contact us if you need prayer or someone to talk to (contact information can be found at the bottom of this page) – we are here for you!
For the sake of his great name the LORD will not reject his people, because the LORD was pleased to make you his own. 1 Samuel 12:22 (NIV)
You may find yourself alone today. Or, perhaps you just feel alone.
Someone may have caused you emotional, physical or even financial harm and you are choosing to isolate yourself from the world.
I understand that. At one point in my life I chose to close myself off from people. I came to the conclusion that people hurt and I was better off alone.
In the end, it just made the pain worse.
Now I have learned a better way- to bring the pain to God and ask Him for healing.
And equally as important- I ask God to help me forgive those who have harmed me.
If we do not forgive, God cannot forgive us. It is His law:
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. Luke 6:37 (KJB)
If you give your problems to God and declare that you choose to forgive, you will receive healing, blessing and freedom!
“Not forgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” (Author unknown)
If you need friends today, ask God to bless you with them. Tell Him your needs and ask Him to help you leave your place of loneliness. He will help you!
Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. Such wicked people are detestable to the LORD, but he offers his friendship to the godly.
Proverbs 3:31-32, (NLT)
I read in the news that because of computers in all their current forms, most of us don’t know how to have nourishing relationships. We don’t know how to spend time together. Without setting out to, we have become more isolated than ever because of emails, texts, Facebook, etc.
I will never forget the day that I was at a restaurant and saw four people at one table all looking at their iPhones and not speaking a word to each other! I guess that they texted each other when it was time to leave!
We need people in our lives to be emotionally healthy and God can help us with that- he created us to be in relationship with Him and people- to encourage them and to be encouraged.
If you find yourself in need of companionship today, we are here to pray and talk with you. Please contact us if you are in need! We have been where you are and we want to help you.
Speaking of friends- Jesus is the best friend we will ever have. He is our Lord, Savior, Brother and Friend. If you have never turned to Him and asked His forgiveness for your sin, would you do that today? He will give you salvation, comfort, guidance, love and real life. All of these things the world cannot give- only He can.
Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?
He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
They will spend their days in prosperity and their descendants will inherit the land.
The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.
My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare.
Psalm 25:12-15 (NIV)
