| June 27th | Reading 179 of 366 | MORNING | HISTORICAL BOOKS | BOOK 14 of 66 | 2 CHRONICLES 1-3
Signpost Words | ‘STRENGTHENED’
Some Observations |
It is God who enabled Solomon to get rich, and to emboss the Kingdom with wonders! Even so, among many other facilities of enablement, Solomon also was an arms dealer (1:17), and made great use of immigrant labor (2:17,18), and also imported foreign expertise (2:13,14). Nothing seems to have changed in the world!
Jachin (he will establish) and Boaz (in him is strength) the two named pillars of the temple are emblematic of many things, least not the covenant intentions of the Lord toward the nation of His people. Look now, because of the continual waywardness of this people, even this great edifice shall later be wiped off the Google maps of the day, and all that shall be left will be scorched earth.
A Call To Action |
God’s good intentions toward you demand your continual actions to maintain them. Note as well, that endings and continuance are better than beginnings, even great beginnings. Time is the great sifter.

Highlight Verses | 2 Chronicles 3:15-17
Also he made in front of the temple two pillars thirty-five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits. He made wreaths of chainwork, as in the inner sanctuary, and put them on top of the pillars; and he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them on the wreaths of chainwork. Then he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand and the other on the left; he called the name of the one on the right hand Jachin, and the name of the one on the left Boaz. NKJV
