Highlight Verses |2 Chronicles 7:19-22 "But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them, then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. "And as for this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, 'Why has the Lord done thus to this land and this house?' Then they will answer, 'Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them; therefore He has brought all this calamity on them.'" NKJV
Some Observations | The God who answers by fire did so! Not only this, but privately and after all the day’s awesome celebrations, God visits Solomon for a private audience and speaks to him about promises, blessings and cursing, the latter of which forms our Highlight text for this morning.
A Call To Action | Solomon started beyond well, even better than anyone in the history of the world! Yet, behold the real king of men, who does not sit on a twelve lion-lined golden throne dispensing wisdom, but sits in the ashes scraping the puss from his oozing boils and questioning the day of his birth. I tell you, Solomon shall sit at the feet of Job in heaven, for Job’s end was magnificent. Let us endeavor to make ours so.
